Strong Points: Database connections
Weak Points: Dull, too little information
Summary:
What, you may be wondering, is GPCR? Genomic PCR? Golden PCR? Google PCR (heaven help us)? Try again. Though the molecular biology world seems to spin around the Polymerase Chain Reaction, there are other systems in biology that share those famous initials. One of them is the focus of this site, the G Protein Coupled Receptors. Actually, that’s a bit misleading. The GPCR site provides mainly a set of links to Molecular Class Specific Gene Databases, such as GPCR, two Nuclear Receptor Databases, two Prion Protein Databases, and two Potassium Channel Gene Databases. As such, then the GPCR site is little more than a joining point for these diverse databases. Fortunately, they are interesting, useful, and have a common organization.
