Rating:
Strong Points: Easy browsing through receptors, interactive features
Weak Points: Nothing major
Summary:
GPCRdb is a vast catalog of G-protein–coupled receptors and includes information about the receptors themselves, their signaling proteins, ligands, crystal constructs, and their potential drug targets and therapeutic uses. The website is easy to navigate and has extensive documentation and tutorials that make it even more intuitive to use. The website contains a wide range of tools, allowing the user to explore topics such as GPCR structures, interactions with their ligands, and mutations that can potentially affect signaling. A particularly interesting feature allows the user to select individual GPCRs or entire families and construct phylogenetic trees in order to visualize the evolution of these receptors better. GPCRdb is beautifully constructed, easy to use, and provides an enormous amount of information useful for any biologist studying this large class of receptors.
