Rating:
Strong Points: Many useful links
Weak Points: Aesthetically nauseating to look at

Summary:
Maybe I’m a picky old guy, but I’ve never liked the word “quantification” (literal meaning=put into quantas), to express the meaning “measure.” The word “quantitation” (literal meaning=determine the quantity of) better expresses what communicators intend, but it is decidedly underused. That came to mind when I saw the title and description of this site: “The Gene Quantification page describes and summarizes all technical aspects involved in quantitative gene expression.” Well, I at least give them credit for getting close. The site is an interesting mishmash of obnoxious advertisements and very useful hyperlinked information relating to quantitative PCR and related technologies. Sorting through the ads is fairly easy, but boy do their blinking/flashing schemes make for one ugly set of pages to look at. Perhaps someone should point the designers to Google Ads.
