Strong Points: Very thorough, well organized
Weak Points: None
An acronym for the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy, CIDRAP is a University of Minnesota site covering five broad topic areas—Influenza, Bioterrorism, Biosecurity, Food Safety, and Others, which includes prion diseases, SARS, West Nile virus, monkey pox, and chemical terrorism. With a focus mostly on up-to-the-minute news, CIDRAP is nothing if not impressive. Information is organized tidily with excellent hierarchy. Each subsection of the main topics has news, guidelines, other links, and much miscellany. The section entitled ’Selected Readings’ for each topic is extensive and very well thought out. Most of the articles are only a click away. If you’re looking for a lot of current info on infectious diseases in the news, this is the first place to look.
