Strong Points: Good educational resources
Weak Points: All events local to U.K., little international activity

The Biochemical Society is a London-based charitable organization that exists to promote molecular and cellular biology as an academic discipline as well as in applied fields like biotechnology and medicine. The website for the Society includes information about upcoming events in the U.K., issues related to science policy, and links to journals owned by the Society. The education section of the website includes a number of resources for students and educators, such as career profiles of biochemists and freely downloadable teaching resources. In addition, the website provides information on how to become a member of the Biochemical Society for those in the U.K., which includes benefits such as discounted registration fees at conferences and a monthly newsletter. (International Associate Membership is also available for members of affiliated organizations in New Zealand, Australia, Brazil, and China.)
