Rating: Excellent
Strong Points: Very well-organized, numerous resources available that are broadly applicable and available to non-members.
The website for the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) is an excellent resource for members and non-members alike. As with many scientific society websites, it covers general society information such as upcoming conferences, links to society-run journals, and information about how to become a member. However, the ASBMB also includes a number of resources that are useful for scientists at any stage in their career and in any field. There are multiple resources for educators, including an extensive collection of articles and seminars about best practices for online teaching. The society also highlights its diversity and advocacy efforts by providing toolkits for effectively advocating for science at a political level, information about harassment prevention in science, and several programs designed to support scholars from underrepresented backgrounds. The website for the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is a great way to learn about the society, but also contains many useful resources for scientists from all disciplines.
