If you’re starting to use computed tomography and don’t know where to begin, check out the Computed Tomography app from Zeiss. The app includes over a dozen short modules that walk users through all of the basics of CT. Users can learn more about CT design, how detectors work, how CT scans are evaluated, and how to safely operate a machine. Each module has a brief description of the topic and most modules include a short video or informative images. In addition to the modules, the app also includes a glossary that highlights and defines key concepts such as multi-material artifact reduction, beam hardening, geometric blurring, and scattered radiation correction. Although the scope of the app is somewhat limited, it’s a convenient and handy overview for anyone using computed tomography scanners or analyzing CT data.
