Strong Points: Fast calculations, easy to use
Weak Points: Very limited compound list, limited utility

Free (in-app purchase to full version for $0.99)

File the Molarity Abacus app under one of the many handy calculator apps that exist to serve you for your at-the-bench needs. The calculator is very simple to use (though even still, the app includes a how-to guide that walks users through the user interface the first time the app is opened). Within the app, users are presented with four fields: molecular weight, mass of solute, total solution volume, and concentration (i.e., molarity). Users simply need to enter values for three of the four fields, and the fourth value is calculated automatically. For the molecular weight field, users can either manually enter a value or can select a compound from a very limited list that is included in the free version of the app. (In the full version, users can add to this list by creating their own compounds.)
