Summary:

The Mendelianum Visitor Centre is part of the Moravian Museum located in the Czech Republic and is dedicated to the life and work of Johann Gregor Mendel, the founder of genetics. In case you can’t make it to the museum in person, fear not! You can sample some of the exhibit’s offerings via the Mendelianum mobile app. Some parts of the app are simply previews of the contents of the exhibit and are not very satisfying on their own. However, other sections of the app such as Mendel’s biography and the timeline of his life provide enough information as to make the app a worthwhile download. A section detailing some of the important locations in Mendel’s life (complete with photographs) is also informative. The app is nicely designed (though the quickly cycling images in some parts of the app can be a bit nauseating) and educational.
