Graphic is a wonderful illustration app that is both perfect for designing figures for your next poster or paper and affordable to the average graduate student or postdoc. The app can import/export the file types (such as PSD, PDF, and SVG) used by more expensive graphic design programs like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, so researchers can seamlessly integrate the Graphic app into their existing workflows. (Graphic is also available as a standalone desktop app and an iPhone app, each of which must be purchased separately.) The layout is intuitive (especially for people with prior Adobe experience) and includes full functionality to make professional vector graphics. The app includes a number of sample files and introductory guides to further assist new users.
