Summary:

For the biomedical researchers and health professionals looking to stay on top of the literature, Docphin is an excellent app that allows one to follow specific journals, set alerts for keywords, and view news articles of interest that are preselected by the app. Registration is free and easy, and by selecting a medical specialty the app will prepopulate the journals that you follow (though this can be edited later). The app home screen displays the Docphin picks, new and trending articles from the journals you follow, and new articles related to user-specified alert keywords. Upon selecting their home institution users are prompted to login with their credentials each time they reach a journal’s pay wall, thereby facilitating easy article download within the app. The app includes great article annotation tools, and annotated articles can be saved within the app or exported and emailed.
