Deep Sea ID, an app from the Natural History Museum in London, provides a valuable resource for exploring the variety of organisms found far below the waves. The app condenses taxonomic information for thousands of species, and allows the user to browse through each classification level. Each species page contains the full classification and citations for further information about the organism. Unfortunately, images are only included for a few hundred of the listed species, and there is no additional information in the app about each species other than its classification and external sources. This app would be best used as a resource for scientists studying marine life, or as a starting point for casual enthusiasts looking for a catalog of species found at the bottom of the ocean.
