Summary:
Chem101 Pro is a useful chemistry app, just as long as you’re not turned off by the deceptive “I’m-free-but-not-really” pricing structure. The app contains five modules: Periodic Table, glossary, calculator, 3D molecular models, and tests. Of those, only the Periodic Table and tests sections are included in the free version. This wouldn’t be too bad, except that the glossary module is required to view even basic information about the elements in the Periodic Table such as atomic and physical properties. If you’re willing to spend the money, the glossary and 3D molecular model modules are worthwhile, though I’d pass on the calculator feature. The 3D models section of the app includes models for a sizable number of compounds. The models load quickly and can be freely rotated by the user.
