Summary:

The American Society of Hematology (ASH) publishes “pocket guides” that serve as handy references for healthcare professionals and trainees in the field. With the ASH Pocket Guides app, all of that information is now readily available on one’s mobile device. Twelve guides are included in all, covering topics such as sickle cell disease, thrombocytopenia, and acute leukemia. Primary citations are provided for each of the guides, and authorship is noted. In addition to the guides, the app also includes a number of relevant clinical calculators and diagnostic decision trees. The app includes a search feature, but it apparently searches for keywords only in the guide titles (which is less useful). Users can mark specific guides or tools as favorites to have them displayed at the top of the home screen.
