Valley Presbyterian Hospital (VPH) today announced the appointment of Robert Allen as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective June 1.
Allen brings more than 20 years of financial experience to Valley Presbyterian Hospital. Currently, Allen serves as Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer at CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center - a 434-bed acute-care facility formerly owned by Tenet Health Systems. Allen has held positions as the Chief Financial Officer at several hospitals in the San Fernando Valley, including a long tenure at Verdugo Hills Hospital.
"We are pleased to have Robert join our executive team at Valley Presbyterian Hospital," said VPH's President and Chief Executive Officer Albert L. Greene. "Robert has a wealth of experience with both the not-for-profit and for-profit hospitals, making him a perfect fit for overseeing Valley Presbyterian's long-range strategic financial requirements along with significant technological investment initiatives. He will play a vital role in Valley Presbyterian's commitment to providing advanced quality healthcare for our community."
Allen has been credited in his career with successfully renegotiating contracts and restructuring debt resulting in significant increases in net revenue and improving revenue cycles. As Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Allen will have administrative responsibility over all financial operations of the hospital.
Allen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University. He replaces Tracey Talley, who has accepted a new position as Chief Financial Officer for a newly formed hospital acquisition and development firm based in San Diego.
