HealthiNation, an emerging digital health education network, today announced that it will provide premium quality videos and content to the seven million users of Yahoo! Health, a comprehensive health information web site dedicated to helping people live better longer.
Yahoo! Health visitors can now interact with HealthiNation content for a completely different and enhanced viewing experience, which includes 3-D animations, on-camera doctors and documentary-style videos from real people who share their personal experiences about their specific health conditions and the steps they've taken to improve their quality of life.
"Consumers are constantly searching for new, innovative ways to learn, improve and take better control of their health with many of them using the Internet as key source of information," said Raj Amin, HealthiNation CEO. "We are very excited to deliver our videos as an integral part of Yahoo! Health's high quality service, and to help people make better decisions about their health and drive higher levels of health literacy."
Eighty percent of American internet users, or some 113 million adults, have searched for information on at least one health topic (Pew Internet and American Life Project, Online Health Search, Oct. 2006).
Created in April 2005 to address consumers' need for accurate, easy-to-understand health content, HealthiNation delivers viewers straight-talking information and inspirational true-life stories. HealthiNation videos are produced independently and reviewed by the company's medical advisory team of respected physicians from various fields of medicine.
