Precast Gels

Criterion™ TGX (Tris-Glycine eXtended) Stain-Free™ precast gels facilitate protein separation and visualization. Researchers using Criterion TGX Stain-Free precast gels and the Gel Doc EZ Imager can achieve protein separation, gel imaging, and data analysis in 25 minutes without the need for staining. Protein detection with this approach has been shown to outperform the Commassie staining system. In a side-by-side run of a range standards and complex samples, the Criterion TGX Stain-Free system produced better sensitivity, reproducibility, and resolution than the Coomassie stain.

Scientifically Studying Ecstasy

MDMA (commonly known as the empathogen “ecstasy”) is classified as a Schedule 1 drug, which is reserved for compounds with no accepted medical use and a high abuse potential. Two researchers from Stanford, however, call for a rigorous scientific exploration of MDMA's effects to identify precisely how the drug works, the data from which could be used to develop therapeutic compounds.

Do you agree that ecstasy should be studied for its potential therapeutic benefits?
