The HyStem-C Stiffness Sampler Trio kit contains hyaluronan-based, synthetic extracellular matrices that can conveniently screen for the perfect in vitro environment for stem cells to proliferate. The Glycosan-branded kit contains three hydrogels of defined stiffness to help researchers choose the right rigidity for growing 3D cell cultures. The gels are biocompatible, customizable, and allow for attachment of multiple cell types. The hydrogel is prepared by mixing the gel and water (both included in the kit) together. Then the cells are either plated on top or encapsulated in the gel. Current applications include vascular morphogenesis, neurogenesis, and other soft-tissue cell cultures.
