Affymetrix and Children’s Research Institute Ally for Diagnostic Development

Scientists will use firm’s instruments to screen genetic information of patients to develop tests.

Affymetrix and Children’s Research Institute inked a deal to leverage arrays to make molecular diagnostic tests better, faster, and more economical.

The five-year agreement, will allow Children’s Research Institute to build processing capacity to analyze up to 25,000 samples using several Affymetrix arrays. The large-scale clinical studies are designed to enable researchers to better identify the genetic variations associated with common, complex diseases that affect children. The resulting information will be used to develop diagnostic and screening tests.
