ESRC Extends Funding for Work on Social and Economic Context of Genomics until 2012
Innogen, Egenis, and Cesagen wil receive the grant.
The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) today will expand funding to its three research centers, Innogen, Egenis, and Cesagen from 2007 up to 2012. The funding will go toward research into the social and economic context of genomics.
Innogen, in particular, will receive further funding of around 5 million pounds over five years. Innogen's research program brings together social, medical, and natural scientists to work on evolution of the new life science economy and the governance of innovation in the life sciences in partnership with industry and private interest groups, policy makers, regulators, citizens, and public interest groups.
These three institutes along with the ESRC Genomics Policy and Research Forum, make up the ESRC Genomics Network.
