Headlines from the front page of today’s Wall Street Journal: “Obama and Romney Deadlocked Polls Show;” “Last Ditch Scramble for Votes;” “Nail-Biter in 3 Key Counties.”
The results indicate that many American voters seem to be evenly split on their final choice for tomorrow’s election. Furthermore, watching most of the Sunday news chat programs yesterday, I discovered that this same point was continually brought home by both Democratic and Republican pundits, viz., many voters have already made up their minds in apparently even numbers. The key race is on for the undecideds.
Looking specifically at our poll, we’ve come up with what Monty Python would call “something completely different.” Our poll numbers this past Friday indicated that 70% of our poll takers thought President Obama would be better for biotech while 30% chose Mr. Romney. At 9:15 this morning, we saw a totally new picture. Our poll shows a changing trend in that 51% of our poll takers now favor Mr. Romney and 47% voted for President Obama. Two percent noted that they would vote for someone else.
While the talk shows and newspaper articles focus on a range of issues that voters will need to decide upon, I’m trying to get a better handle on only one issue and I am asking you to give us your specific thoughts on the following: which presidential candidate do you think will be the better biotech president and why? We really want to hear from you and look forward to your comments below.
