Service Business Offers Comprehensive Next-Generation Sequencing Solutions Focusing on Automation!--h2>
Genomic researchers dedicate months to collecting DNA and RNA samples. Before turning over precious samples for analysis, they need to be able to trust that their service provider understands their research goals and will deliver a successful outcome. From classic to cutting-edge, Beckman Coulter Genomics’ team has expertise and experience over a wide range of genomic technology platforms and is dedicated to delivering the highest quality results. Services currently available through Beckman Coulter Genomics include sequencing, sample preparation, genotyping, gene expression, biological efficiency and safety testing, with support for all levels of regulatory compliance, including Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).
About the Company
In 2009, Beckman Coulter announced the creation of Beckman Coulter Genomics. The new company, which combines Agencourt Bioscience and Cogenics, offers researchers a single genomic services resource with expanded global capabilities. Service facilities are located in the United States, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Beckman Coulter Genomics recognizes that the DNA sequencing requirements of any research project derive from a unique combination of the experimental goal and the technical design. Combining Sanger sequencing with a portfolio of next-generation DNA sequencing technologies, Beckman Coulter Genomics supports research with traditional, next-generation and hybrid DNA sequencing solutions. Technical experts consult with clients on experimental design, leveraging cross-platform knowledge to ensure the most appropriate technology, or combination of technologies, are selected to achieve their unique research goal. Cross platform proficiencies leverage the flexibility of experimental design required to meet the objectives of a wide range of projects, irrespective of scale.
Beckman Coulter Genomics sets the standard for delivering expert genomics solutions to life science and healthcare businesses as well as academic and government institutions worldwide.
Next-Generation Sequencing—Recently launched, Beckman Coulter Genomics’ new, automated, high-capacity target-capture sequencing service offers a robust automated solution that streamlines the sample preparation for targeted next-generation sequencing. The utilization of Agilent SureSelect Target Enrichment technology with Beckman Coulter’s SPRIworks Fragment Library System for automated library construction and Biomek Laboratory Automation Workstation for liquid handling, provides high-quality, reproducible samples ready for sequencing. Beckman Coulter Genomics’s automated target capture solution allows for whole exome capture or custom targeting of genomic regions of interest. Sequencing on the Illumina GAII or HiSeq 2000 platforms provides accurate data with reduced project turnaround time resulting from workflow automation and flexible sample multiplexing options.
Sanger Sequencing—Still the gold standard in DNA sequencing, Sanger sequencing services are available for applications that range from single sample quick turnaround sequencing to sequencing for SNP discovery to publication-quality whole-genome finishing. A highly automated Sanger sequencing pipeline, powered by Beckman Coulter automation and the patented Solid Phase Reversible Immobilization (SPRI) paramagnetic bead-based technology, enables the rapid delivery of long reads of the highest quality.
Genotyping—Beckman Coulter Genomics provides an extensive range of high-quality genotyping solutions across multiple platforms, for research applications or in accordance with applicable GLP and CLIA regulations. Expertise is offered in whole-genome variation analysis, targeted genotyping, and clinical genotyping. With more than a decade of experience in both clinical- and research-level genotyping, we can assist in selecting the right platform, or combination of platforms, as well as the bioinformatics tools to meet your research and development needs.
Gene Expression—Different applications demand different solutions. Beckman Coulter Genomics offers gene-expression analysis services using a broad range of technology platforms. As the first platform-independent gene-expression service provider, Beckman Coulter Genomics continues to lead the way with the broadest range of state-of-the-art technologies and instrumentation for transcript profiling.
Data Analysis and Project Support—High-quality data is only part of an effective sequencing solution. BCG has a staff of expert scientists able to consult on experimental design and a team of bioinformatics specialists to oversee data analysis. Dedicated project managers act as liaisons throughout the duration of projects to ensure a positive experience from sample submission to data retrieval.
