Collaboration will explore the genetic regulation of mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation and insulin-resistance.

Amsterdam Molecular Therapeutics and the University of Barcelona will work together to develop a gene therapy capable of regulating mitochondrial fatty acid metabolism and insulin-resistance. They research will cover the areas of gene regulation of fatty acid oxidation, and obesity.


The partnership will initially aim to demonstrate the safety and efficacy in various preclinical models. If successful the product will be taken into clinical development and commercialization.
