any award that brings attention to a particular research advance will help advance that endeavor. the recognition of the importance of adult stem cells bodes well for companies engaged in stem cell research. Toucan Capital's portfolio is testament to the enormous promise that investors see in stem cell technology and they may be right.
in terms of the lasker award, we know they are harbingers of Nobels. This year will probably confirm that trend.
