Goal of alliance is to offer faster, more cost-effective access to phenotypically characterized genetically engineered mice.

Taconic Farms, its Germany-based subsidiary TaconicArtemis, and PhenoPro have formed a strategic alliance to develop and market integrated services combining the design, generation, breeding, and phenotyping of genetically modified models (GMMs).

This collaboration will combine TaconicArtemis’ mouse genetics expertise with Taconic’s expertise in the breeding and distribution of GMMs, and PhenoPro’s mouse model phenotyping capabilities and phenogenomics expertise in biomedicine.

According to the firms, this integrated outsourced solution will offer investigators faster design to validation times for custom-designed GMMs. The alliance will also seek to simplify and streamline project management through the efficient use of resources, while increasing the richness and understanding of data delivered from studies using newly created GMMs.
