Synthetic biology leverages engineering principles to create novel biological systems or to redesign existing ones. Questions have already been raised regarding the safety, ethical, and social impact of synthetic biology. For example, one fear is that the technology could be used to create an organism as an instrument for bioterrorism. What’s your view on regulating this field?
