Vetter Pharma-Fertigung Receives Go-Ahead for Production Plant

  • Vetter Pharma-Fertigung obtained a manufacturing license for its Ravensburg Vetter South plant. The license comes after a planning and construction period of three years and an investment of Euro 100 million.

    In addition to dual-chamber syringes and cartridges, the new location will enable the company to fill liquid or lyophilized vials as well as single-chamber cartridges. According to the company, the new production lines are flexible, making it possible to quickly change systems and formats, including line clearance, cleaning and disinfection.

Scientifically Studying Ecstasy

MDMA (commonly known as the empathogen “ecstasy”) is classified as a Schedule 1 drug, which is reserved for compounds with no accepted medical use and a high abuse potential. Two researchers from Stanford, however, call for a rigorous scientific exploration of MDMA's effects to identify precisely how the drug works, the data from which could be used to develop therapeutic compounds.
