University of Cambridge Will Use IDBS Technology for Chemistry Research

  • The department of chemistry at the University of Cambridge will deploy IDBS’ E-WorkBook and suite of chemistry technologies in its research activities. It will also be able to use the system in its ongoing collaborations.

    The two organizations also have begun a collaborative R&D initiative that may help bring new cheminformatics technologies to the market through IDBS products.

Scientifically Studying Ecstasy

MDMA (commonly known as the empathogen “ecstasy”) is classified as a Schedule 1 drug, which is reserved for compounds with no accepted medical use and a high abuse potential. Two researchers from Stanford, however, call for a rigorous scientific exploration of MDMA's effects to identify precisely how the drug works, the data from which could be used to develop therapeutic compounds.
