Combined company will retain Titertek’s Huntsville, AL, facility and Berthold’s German site.

Titertek Instruments has merged with Berthold Detection Systems to form Titertek-Berthold. The new company combines Titertek’s 35 years of producing assay-processing, liquid-handling, and detection systems with Berthold’s bio and chemiluminescence instrumentation.

“Due to the complementary technologies, an impressive product portfolio is available but will be expanded significantly, short-term and long-term. The company is in an exceptional position to serve many life science market segments, worldwide,” Titertek-Berthold remarks.

The combined company will continue to operate from Titertek’s 35,000 square foot facility at Cummings Research Park in Huntsville, AL, as well as from Pforzheim, Germany, where Berthold has been based. The new company says its customers are engaged in, among other activities, academic research, biotech and pharmaceutical R&D, vaccine development, food research, food quality control, human and veterinary diagnostics, diagnostic research, and quality control.
