Tgen and Applied Biosystems Use SOLiD 3 System for Genomic Research

  • Applied Biosystems and the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) will ally to research complex diseases using the firm’s SOLiD™ 3 System, a next-generation genomic analysis platform. The alliance will also involve the co-development of a bioinformatics analysis and visualization pipeline for the SOLiD platform.

Under this alliance, five SOLiD 3 Systems will be used to build a sequencing pipeline in connection with patient-centric, medically directed resequencing on a cross section of patient samples.

Six different projects focused on comprehensive characterization of genetic and molecular changes occurring within clinical cohorts for diseases like cancer, neurological disorders, and autoimmune diseases will be studied.
