Strategic Diagnostics to Supply Antibodies to U. of Oregon and LSU for Usher Syndrome Research

  • Strategic Diagnostics will expand its relationship with the University of Oregon, Eugene and the Louisiana State University Health Science Center by supplying antibodies for the study of Usher Syndrome, a condition characterized by progressive hearing and vision loss. The antibodies will be used in the researchers’ zebrafish and mouse model systems of the disease.

“These tools will enable us to visualize the complex interaction of proteins in our disease models,” reports Monte Westerfield of U. of Oregon. SDI will produce the antibodies through its Genomic Antibody Technology™ platform and retain the commercial rights to the antibodies produced.
