Sigma-Aldrich to Offer Eka’s HPLC Columns

  • Sigma-Aldrich will provide Eka Chemicals' Kromasil® analytical HPLC columns for the separation and purification of small molecules, peptides, and proteins in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The agreement covers the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico and expands Sigma-Aldrich's portfolio of chromatography solutions offered through its Supelco® brand.

    Kromasil analytical columns are used for analytical to process-scale HPLC, SFC, and SMB applications.

Scientifically Studying Ecstasy

MDMA (commonly known as the empathogen “ecstasy”) is classified as a Schedule 1 drug, which is reserved for compounds with no accepted medical use and a high abuse potential. Two researchers from Stanford, however, call for a rigorous scientific exploration of MDMA's effects to identify precisely how the drug works, the data from which could be used to develop therapeutic compounds.
