Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Life Sciences Installs Genomatix’ Next-Gen Sequencing Data Analyzer

  • The Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Life Sciences (NCMLS) installed a Genomatix Genome Analyzer (GGA) at the lab of Henk Stunnenberg, Ph.D. Dr. Stunnenberg’s research focuses on transcription-factor analysis and epigenetic research in the context of health and disease. The Genomatix Genome Analyzer delivers a complete and integrated solution for the downstream analysis of next-generation sequencing data, according to Genomatix Software.

Scientifically Studying Ecstasy

MDMA (commonly known as the empathogen “ecstasy”) is classified as a Schedule 1 drug, which is reserved for compounds with no accepted medical use and a high abuse potential. Two researchers from Stanford, however, call for a rigorous scientific exploration of MDMA's effects to identify precisely how the drug works, the data from which could be used to develop therapeutic compounds.
