Millipore and Novozymes Ink Deal Related to Cell Culture Supplements

  • Millipore and Novozymes entered into an agreement to develop, market, and sell new, animal-free cell culture supplements for biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

    The products, to branded CellPrime™, will be manufactured by Novozymes and sold through Millipore’s sales organization.

    The alliance expands the existing relationship between Millipore and Novozymes and will initially focus on developing recombinant human albumin and recombinant human transferrin.

Scientifically Studying Ecstasy

MDMA (commonly known as the empathogen “ecstasy”) is classified as a Schedule 1 drug, which is reserved for compounds with no accepted medical use and a high abuse potential. Two researchers from Stanford, however, call for a rigorous scientific exploration of MDMA's effects to identify precisely how the drug works, the data from which could be used to develop therapeutic compounds.
