MDRNA Gains Rights to RNAi Delivery Peptides from Univ. of Michigan

  • MDRNA has exclusively licensed intellectual property from the University of Michigan covering cationic peptides for enhanced delivery of nucleic acids. These small cationic peptides are capable of forming stable siRNA nanoparticle complexes, according to MDRNA. This protects the siRNA while increasing the efficiency and efficacy of the formulations, the firm continues. In addition, they can also reportedly enhance endosomal release, an important step in delivering siRNAs to their site of action inside cells.
