Laboratoires Fournier has gained access to Biobase’s eukaryotic gene regulation database, under a license agreement between the two companies. The company will use Transfac for therapeutic applications in the fields of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases.

The Transfac database contains information on over 8,700 transcription factors, their binding sites and derived nucleotide distribution matrices, and the genes they regulate. Manually curated since 1997, Transfac aids researchers in identifying and analyzing transcription factor binding sites as well as visualizing, interpreting, and predicting gene regulatory networks.
