    As the website Begin Before Birth notes, we are all interested in understanding what makes us who we are, and we all want to make sure that every child gets the best possible start in life. How we turn out depends on both our genes and our environment, and the influence of the environment begins in the womb. This video highlights the dramatic effects that can result from environmental changes to DNA, as two mice with the same DNA—essentially clones—have very different appearances.

Scientifically Studying Ecstasy

MDMA (commonly known as the empathogen “ecstasy”) is classified as a Schedule 1 drug, which is reserved for compounds with no accepted medical use and a high abuse potential. Two researchers from Stanford, however, call for a rigorous scientific exploration of MDMA's effects to identify precisely how the drug works, the data from which could be used to develop therapeutic compounds.
