Endocyte has selected the Medidata Solutions cloud-based platform to support the execution of multiple ongoing clinical trials. Endocyte’s pipeline of drugs in clinical development include technology for ovarian and lung cancer indications. The company is implementing the combined solution of Medidata’s electronic data capture and clinical data management system Medidata Rave® along with Medidata CTMS™.

“The Medidata Clinical Cloud will allow us to maintain streamlined operations and efficient execution of our ongoing clinical trials,” said Hong Ma, director of clinical operations at Endocyte. “This will ensure that we obtain the highest level of data quality and integrity.”

Endocyte is a biopharmaceutical company developing targeted therapies for the treatment of cancer and inflammatory diseases. Endocyte uses its technology to create SMDCs and companion imaging diagnostics for personalized targeted therapies. The company’s SMDCs actively target receptors that are over-expressed on diseased cells, relative to healthy cells. The companion imaging diagnostics are designed to identify patients whose disease over-expresses the target of the therapy and who are therefore more likely to benefit from treatment.

Recently initiated trials by Endocyte include PROCEED, a Phase III study for women with platinum resistant ovarian cancer evaluating EC145 in combination with Doxil®, which is currently enrolling participants. Another study is a Phase II TARGET trial for patients with non-small, cell lung cancer.

In October, Sanofi selected Medidata Clinical Cloud to replace some of its existing clinical technologies across its R&D organization. Last week, Medidata partnered with Veeva Systems to offer a cloud-based end-to-end solution that integrates clinical documentation and trial development. The two companies will integrate Vault eTMF, Veeva’s electronic trial master file content management application, across the Medidata Clinical Cloud, offering life science companies and their global partners a complete clinical technology solution with a searchable central repository for all clinical documentation.
