Corning offers a comprehensive range of innovative, high-quality tools and solutions for life science research and bioproduction. All Corning brands offer consistent, reliable, and repeatable results giving you the confidence that you can only get from over 95 years of expertise in research, product development, and manufacturing.

At Corning, we continuously strive toward improving efficiencies and developing new products and technologies to support researchers in their life science workflows.

The Corning® cellgro® line of media, sera, and reagents, combined with Corning’s disposable vessels, liquid-handling products, and advanced surfaces, provide life science researchers with a comprehensive portfolio of products.

Corning cellgro products comprise a full line of media, sera, and solutions in standard and custom configurations for cell culture, cell therapy, and bioprocessing applications. Products include classical and specialty media, basal salt solutions, antibiotics, sera, and a wide variety of single-use flexible packaging systems.

  • Serum-Free and Specialty Media

Serum-free growth media pose numerous advantages over the use of serum, including lot-to-lot consistency, the elimination of exogenous agents, simpler downstream processing, and fewer regulatory obstacles. Corning’s key offerings include the following products:
    • stemgro® hMSC Medium
Serum-free stemgro hMSC Medium has been designed for the maximum expansion of human mesenchymal stem cells derived from bone marrow, cord blood, or adipose tissue. stemgro hMSC Medium is chemically defined as its components are either chemically synthesized or recombinantly produced and purified. stemgro hMSC Medium offers the convenience of no vessel coating with biological materials if used with Corning CellBIND® or Corning Primaria™ Surface cell culture vessels, saving the cost of coating materials and time.
    hybrigro™ SF Medium
Specifically developed for serum-free growth and antibody production with a variety of hybridoma cell lines, hybrigro SF Medium is a complete, animal component-free, defined medium.
    Hepatocyte Maintenance Medium
Hepatocyte Maintenance Medium is defined animal-origin free and serum-free, and designed for the in vitro cultivation and maintenance of hepatocytes for research applications, drug discovery, and studies related to preclinical drug-induced liver injury. This specialized medium is optimized for primary human hepatocytes.
    • transfectagro™ Reduced-serum Medium
transfectagro Reduced-serum Medium is designed to maximize the growth of a variety of cell types under reduced-serum conditions, generally allowing for at least a 50% reduction in serum use with minimal adaptation. A chemically defined, reduced-serum formulation, transfectagro reduced-serum medium also improves transient transfection efficiency in a variety of cell types.
    • glutagro™ Medium and Supplement
glutagro Medium and Supplement is the perfect replacement for glutamine. Cells grown in traditional media supplemented with
L-glutamine are susceptible to toxicity. With glutagro Medium and Supplement, cells receive this needed supplement in the healthiest environment possible. This modified form of L-glutamine does not degrade into ammonia during storage and incubation, minimizing toxicity and improving culture quality.

Corning cellgro flexible packaging systems are offered in multiple formats, including custom configurations to meet your exact requirements. Our single-use bags are designed to be practical and cost-effective alternatives to rigid-walled containers. They are fabricated to match your specific application, with a variety of bag sizes and tubing/connector configurations available. These containment and delivery systems preserve the physical, chemical, and functional characteristics of sterile fluids. Choose from collection containers, cell expansion bags, cryopreservation bags, rocker cell culture bags, and tank liners.
