Breeding zebrafish

Reshma Doodnath

Hi. I'm an absolute novice at breeding zebrafish and was wondering if anybody came across the following problems.
My fish are 3 months old and breeding resulted in many eggs, but the majority of these were small and abnormal. They had a very condensed irreglar yolk. In addition, there were lots of bits of what looked like an empty chorion - looked just like an empty sac.
The other thing was that breeding wild type fish was successful with many normal looking embryos, but after 72 hours in egg water (with a small amount of methylene blue), there seemed to be a lot of parasites which seemed to have invaded the eggs and pretty much destroyed them.
Any advice?
