Scientific Tuesdays (developer: Revision3)

  • Interesting videos, large collection
  • Episode summaries not informative
Platform:   Android Phone
Cost:   Free

Tuesday is a rather nondescript day, sandwiched between the start of the workweek and the halfway point. Well, now Tuesdays are special—at least, if you download the free Scientific Tuesdays app. Each Tuesday, a new science video is added to the cumulative collection (which seems to go back to October 2010). Each video runs on the order of 3–5 minutes and details an interesting and/or weird science phenomenon, many of which can easily be recreated at home by the viewers. Titles to the videos include “Become a fire-breathing dragon with this secret trick” and “Spinning death spheres”, so there is no lack of enthusiasm on the part of the film makers or host. Each video may be watched in small, large, or HD format. For each episode there is a very brief summary (usually not too informative) and a few viewers’ comments.
