This app by VisionLearning—designed to complement the educational resources found online at www.visionlearning.com—is a free glossary containing hundreds of scientific terms. The glossary draws upon chemistry, biology, physics, and earth science to compile its list of important terms and key figures in each discipline. While useful in its breadth across various scientific fields, the glossary does not comprehensively cover any particular area; the result is a collection of terms that fails to provide a clear picture of the key concepts in any one subject. This could be helped by additional organization into subjects, as the app currently only features an alphabetical index. Despite these limitations, the glossary is a useful reference for any student of science, especially because it links to the VisionLearning online modules. Thus, users have both simple definitions and entire educational modules at their fingertips.
