Summary:

An important aspect of experimental design is power analysis—that is, determining the sample size that is needed for the experiment to be able to detect an effect of a particular size with a given degree of confidence. The Power Analysis app provides an easy means for researchers to do so without requiring advanced knowledge of statistics. The app simply walks the investigator through a series of questions—what would you like to calculate, are you measuring one sample or comparing two, and so on—and calculates the required sample size given the user-inputted parameters. Within the app, users can create and save individual experiments for reference (though, unfortunately, the information cannot be exported in any way other than by taking a screen shot of the experimental parameters).
