Brain & Nerves

  • Numerous entries, can email entries
  • Information fairly superficial, no citations
Platform:   iPhone
Cost:   Free

I was a bit weary of the Brain & Nerves app, whose description is simply, “Best app on brain and nerves!” The app is certainly informative, though I don’t know if it is comprehensive enough to be deemed an authority on the subject of “the brain and nerves”. Essentially, this app provides descriptions of many common maladies afflicting the nervous system. These include (among many others) Huntington disease, migraine, and sleep disorders. The entries are presented as an alphabetical list. A convenient feature of the app is the option to email specific entries. Information is presented in an easy-to-understand manner. While most health professionals will probably find the degree of detail to be unsatisfying, this is a nice reference app for anyone curious about various disorders of the nervous system.
