Rating:
Strong Points: Attractive design, great opportunity
Weak Points: Pesky advertisement for PowerPoint templates that appear on every page

Summary:

It was a happy accident that I came across SlideWorld, a wonderful website with a less-than-descriptive name. (For all I knew, it could have been the website for a water park!) SlideWorld is a search engine for medical PowerPoint presentations. Boasting 7,650,583 presentations, SlideWorld allows one to enter the site as either an “empowered patient” or a “medical professional,” and subsequently browse by topics from there. In addition to being able to search by keyword, visitors can also choose to browse by categories such as “featured,” “popular,” “latest,” and “conferences.” Users can rate the presentations, and medical professionals can even upload their own. Besides the annoying advertisement for purchasable PowerPoint templates, slideworld.org offers a well-designed site with lots of information to explore.
