NIF (Neuroscience Information Framework)

  • Nice site design, many resources
  • None

Where can one go to access a number of resources related to neuroscience? Once you visit the website for the Neuroscience Information Framework (NIF), you’ll realize that the answer to this question is a no-brainer. Boasting the release of a new version of its website (complete with improved search capabilities and a sleek web design), the NIF provides the scientific community with a number of valuable resources. Largely found under the poorly named heading “NIF Products” (a misnomer because there is nothing to purchase here—everything is freely accessible). Resources include an antibody registry, a drug-related gene database, a database of gene expression in the brain, and a database of nervous system connectivity. In many instances these resources pool information from a number of regularly referenced databases so researchers have the cumulative information at their fingertips simultaneously.
