Institute for Drug Resistance

  • Beautiful site design, extensive links collection for both researchers and general public

Just how often do we hear “Don’t give antibiotics to cattle!” or “Don’t use antibacterial hand soap!” Indeed, the fears of drug-resistant bacteria are well founded, as there are now many examples of such critters plaguing patients and hospitals. Yet, as the Institute for Drug Resistance points out, bacteria are not the only ones with drug-resistance capabilities. Viruses, parasites, and even cancer cells all must be included in the conversation. The Institute for Drug Resistance’s website is an excellent resource for researchers, including a researcher directory, information about upcoming conferences, and a forum where researchers can post “seeking collaboration” announcements. The education and outreach page provides useful information for both scientists and the general public, addressing various aspects of antibiotic resistance and providing links to other related resources.
