For researchers in the field of glycomics—the study of glycans and glycan binding proteins (GBPs), as they relate to human health and disease—the Functional Glycomics Gateway is an excellent online hub of free information and resources. A service of the Consortium for Functional Glycomics, the Functional Glycomics Gateway provides a number of useful materials including paradigm pages that describe the nine major GBP families, a resources page that provides information about obtaining glycans/reagents and mouse lines, and molecule pages that allow researchers to search for glycan structures, GBPs, or glycosyltransferases. In addition to the many resources contained within the pages of the Gateway itself, the website also includes an extensive list of links to other glycomics websites.
