FaceBase

www.facebase.org
  • Great web design, nice links page
  • Datasets currently restricted to approved users

I bring this website to your attention because this is a page to keep your eye (and nose, and ear, and mouth) on… FaceBase is a consortium of 11 projects related to craniofacial research, one of which is a hub that will provide open-access data relating to humans, mice, and other organisms. Now, I say that it will provide—future tense—because this hub is an ongoing project that does not yet exist. (But stay tuned!) Nevertheless, there are a number of useful resources on the FaceBase website that are currently available to nonregistered users. (If you wish to register, you must first be approved by a site administrator. This gives you access to datasets.) The “resources” page contains links to scanning electron microscope images of a mouse embryo, a page of links to external resources, a list of FaceBase mouse lines available at Jackson Labs, and more.
