Whether you want to analyze your data, create a website, or design an app, you need a working knowledge of computer programming as it relates to your specific application or programming language. Codecademy is a great online resource to learn how to program, even if you have no idea what “programming” actually is. The site is composed of eight major tracks (with each track composed of a series of courses) designed to allow mastery of a topic or language: web fundamentals, jQuery, JavaScript, projects, Python, Ruby, PHP, and APIs. In addition to these tracks, the site also offers a number of stand-alone, non-track courses on a variety of topics. Users can create profiles that allow them to track their progress and connect with other students. Alternatively, if you are interested in sharing your programming knowledge with the world, you can create a course yourself.
